Yoga vs Pilates....

I've been doing 'Hot Yoga' for a good few weeks now and I LOVE it! Having never tried Yoga before I was apprehensive to say the least, walking into that studio I had no idea exactly what I was letting myself in for. The room was full of women (and a few scared looking men) of all ages and shapes. I had envisaged scantily clad bodies of perfection....Phew!!
As we began the instructor, Emily cranked up the heat..... 42 DEGREES!! Within 10 minutes the sweat began to pour.....and sweat was basically the theme for the evening.
After 90 intense mintues of yogic postures, my ordeal was over and I was addicted! I felt so alive, renewed and bizarrely refreshed! I went home eager to tell my lesser half....(I shall introduce him properly...his name is Ryan) all about my first experience of Hot Yoga and for him to feel how wet my once dry gym clothes were! Yes, I really am that disgusting.
Today I did my first 'Hot Pilates' class (again my first pilates experience). I cant quite make my mind up as to wether I like it. I don't feel the instant love for it as I did with hot yoga. It was a shorter lunch time class.... is this the reason?? Am I now used to the 90 min extravaganzas?? The work was diferent to yoga in that it is very focused on core strength, with lots of ab work (yippee... bye bye muffin top) but overall I didn't feel as knakered from it.

I will give it another shot, for now I withold verdict....And continue my love affair with yoga.

If any of you are in the Reading area give the studio a go:
